Cardiac arrest is a serious and life-threatening condition that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. It is not exactly the same as a heart attack, which is caused by a blockage in the blood flow to the heart. Cardiac arrest is caused by an electrical problem in the heart that disrupts its normal rhythm.
